Permalink Israeli strikes on Rafah kill 19 Palestinians, including children

At least 19 Palestinians, including small children, have been killed in the latest Israeli airstrikes on the southern city of Rafah, as the regime continues its brutal war against the besieged Gaza Strip. | According to local sources and video footage verified by Al Jazeera, the civilians were killed after Israeli warplanes targeted a house east of Rafah on Wednesday.  Earlier, footage showed the bodies of three children killed in the Israeli attack arriving at Abu Youssef Al Najjar Hospital in the city. Rafah has been packed with tens of thousands of displaced civilians. Israeli airstrikes have been pounding locations across Gaza, including southern parts that Israel had declared as safe zones. Homes, hospitals, cemetery targeted: Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says the occupying regime’s artillery has targeted residential buildings, a cemetery and hospitals in Khan Yunis over the past two days, as the southern Gaza Strip is reeling under heavy Israeli bombardment. “Initial reports and video footage show that much of the al-Namsawi cemetery was destroyed and graves empty with some corpses reportedly missing,” the OCHA said.

Permalink Israeli party pushes for overthrow of government over handling of Gaza hostages

Labor Party accuses government of not prioritizing return of hostages taken on Oct. 7 | The Israeli left-wing Labor Party said on Wednesday that it will present a proposal to the Knesset to withdraw confidence from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government due to its failure to release hostages held in Gaza. 💬 "It has been 103 days since the kidnapping of our children by Hamas and the government is torn and does not care at all," the party said in a statement on X. "There is no confidence in a government that does not prioritize the return of its hostages," it added, calling for "overthrowing" it. Led by former Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli, the Labor Party has four seats in the 120-member Knesset. Withdrawing confidence requires at least 61 lawmakers to vote in favor of the proposal. The government led by Netanyahu has a majority of 64 seats, making it difficult for the proposal to pass.

Permalink Mother of captive in Gaza says IOF killed her son, not Hamas

The Israeli military has revealed that the cause of death of two Israeli occupation forces could not be determined, prompting accusations of the IOF "mistakenly" killing their own. | Amid obscurity, Sherman's mother, Maya, accused the IOF of killing her son. 💬 “The results of the investigation: Ron was indeed murdered. Not by Hamas. Think more in the direction of Auschwitz and the showers but without Nazis and without Hamas as the cause. No accidental shooting, no report, premeditated murder, bombings with poisonous gases,” she wrote on social media. The IOF was accused of gassing a tunnel in which Sherman was located, causing suffocation and poisoning, and ultimately his death. 💬 "They found that he also had several crushed fingers, apparently due to his desperate attempts to get out of the poison grave that the IDF buried in him when he tried to breathe air, but he only breathed IDF poison," she went on saying.
