Permalink ‘The Opposite of a Peace Formula’: Zelensky's Proposal for Russian Surrender Ridiculed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared the highly aspirational plan at this year’s World Economic Forum summit in Davos. | Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky unveiled a diplomatic proposal to end the long-running conflict in the Donbass region this week, but observers say the controversial leader’s “peace formula” is little more than wishful thinking. 💬 “It is the opposite of a peace formula,” said security analyst Mark Sleboda on Sputnik’s The Critical Hour program Thursday. “It is a childish demand for Russian unconditional surrender that Russia should withdraw all of its troops from Ukrainian territory – including Crimea – [and] surrender the people of Crimea and Donbass to the tender mercies of Azov* Neo-Nazis.”

Permalink Yemen Ensures Safe Passage for Int’l Ships, Vows More Ops attacks on “Israeli” Vessels

Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement has promised a safe passage for international ships sailing in the Red Sea as the country’s armed forces ramp up their retaliatory operations on “Israeli”-owned and -bound vessels in support of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip. | Mohammad al-Bakhiti, a member of Ansarullah’s politburo, made the statement in an interview published by the Russian daily Izvestia on Friday and said the Red Sea was safe so long as ships transiting the strategic waterway were not linked to “Israel”. 💬 “As far as ships from all other countries, including Russia and China, are concerned, their navigation in the region is not under any threat whatsoever,” al-Bakhiti said, noting that “Moreover, we are ready to ensure the safe passage of their ships in the Red Sea, because free navigation plays a significant role for our country.”  Stressing those operations on vessels “in any way connected with ‘Israel’” will continue, he added, “Ansarullah does not pursue the goal of capturing or sinking this or that sea vessel. Our goal is to raise the economic costs" for the “Israeli” entity "in order to stop the carnage in Gaza.”

Al-Qassam Brigades publishes a new video showing three Israeli captives who were killed by the indiscriminate Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip. | Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, published a new video footage titled "We tried to keep them alive but Netanyahu insisted on killing them," referring to the Israeli occupation’s killing of three Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip.  The video depicted three Israeli captives: Elia Tolidano, Nick Beezer, and Ron Sherman, who were being held inside a room in a tunnel. Al-Qassam addressed Israeli settlers saying that these three captives "were killed by your army’s weapons," referring to the indiscriminate bombardment that the Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out across the Gaza Strip. 💬 "The situation is unbearable," [one] captive said, "There is a risk that we will die because there are no guarantees that the Israeli army will not bomb us." In fact, up to 60 Israeli captives have been killed since the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip commenced, some by airstrikes while others were killed by the gunfire of Israeli special forces.
