Egypt military dissolves parliament
Egypt's new military rulers have dissolved the parliament and suspended the constitution days after a historic revolution ousted President Hosni Mubarak. Parliament was dominated by Mubarak's ruling National Democratic Party. The military also announced that it would stay in power in the six months before a civilian government is elected, a Press TV correspondent reported. The military rulers also plan to form a committee to draft a new constitution for the country. The measures were announced as protesters re-gathered in Cairo's Liberation Square after being dispersed by security forces on Sunday.
