Permalink Russia releases key findings on chemical attack near Aleppo indicating similarity with rebel-made weapons

Probes from Khan al-Assal show chemicals used in the March 19 attack did not belong to standard Syrian army ammunition, and that the shell carrying the substance was similar to those made by a rebel fighter group, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
A statement released by the ministry on Wednesday particularly drew attention to the “massive stove-piping of various information aimed at placing the responsibility for the alleged chemical weapons use in Syria on Damascus, even though the results of the UN investigation have not yet been revealed.” By such means “the way is being paved for military action” against Damascus, the ministry pointed out.
But the samples taken at the site of the March 19 attack and analyzed by Russian experts indicate that a projectile carrying the deadly nerve agent sarin was most likely fired at Khan al-Assal by the rebels, the ministry statement suggests, outlining the 100-page report handed over to the UN by Russia.

Permalink Russia’s Putin warns West against one-sided action on Syria

Amid speculation that Russia may hike military assistance to Syria should the Unites States strike, Russian leader Vladimir Putin warned the West against taking action, in comments published on Wednesday. In an interview with The Associated Press and Russia’s state Channel 1 television, Putin said that Moscow has provided some components of the S-300 air defense missile system to Syria but has frozen further shipments. He said that Russia doesn’t "exclude” supporting a U.N. resolution on punitive military strikes, which is being called on by U.S. President Barack Obama, if it is proved that Damascus used poison gas on its own people. Putin described claims that the government of President Bashar al-Assad - a staunch ally of Russia - had used chemical weapons as “ludicrous.”

Permalink US Congress lines up behind drive for war against Syria

Leading members of the US Congress have moved quickly to declare their support for President Barack Obama’s proposed resolution enabling the use of force against Syria. The move to get a congressional authorization is aimed at providing a fig-leaf of legitimacy to a unpopular war that is based on lies. In this way it is similar to the 2001 Authorization of Use of Military Force, which became the rationale for sweeping military attacks and domestic repression. In fact, the administration is seeking the resolution in part because it is planning a major military operation to reverse the course of the Syrian civil war and unseat or kill Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad. This is merely a prelude to action against Syria’s main ally, Iran, and behind it, Russia.

'As of the year 2000, there were seven countries without a Rothschild-owned Central Bank: Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Cuba, North Korea, Iran. Then along came the convenient terror of 9-11 and soon Iraq and Afghanistan had been added to the list, leaving only five countries without a Central Bank owned by the Rothschild Family: Sudan, Libya, Cuba, North Korea, Iran. The only countries left in 2013 without a Central Bank owned by the Rothschild Family are: Cuba, North Korea, Iran.

Al-Manar News: Lawmakers Blast Obama’s Syria War Draft American lawmakers have criticized the draft of President Barack Obama’s authorization for military action in Syria, saying it could open the door to attacks on "other countries" [Iran, Russia, N. Korea]. Obama and other White House officials pressed lawmakers on Monday to approve military force against Syria. However, there is deep disagreement on how to proceed, with some lawmakers saying the draft authorization is too broad in scope and duration [WWIII].

Ellen Brown: Making the World Safe for Banksters: Syria in the Cross-hairs In an August 2013 article titled “Larry Summers and the Secret ‘End-game’ Memo,” Greg Palast posted evidence of a secret late-1990s plan devised by Wall Street and U.S. Treasury officials to open banking to the lucrative derivatives business. To pull this off required the relaxation of banking regulations not just in the US but globally. The vehicle to be used was the Financial Services Agreement of the World Trade Organization. The “end-game” would require not just coercing support among WTO members but taking down those countries refusing to join. Some key countries remained holdouts from the WTO, including Iraq, Libya, Iran and Syria.

Permalink US evokes ghost of Hitler as PR campaign against Assad goes crazy

Robert Bridge This was the first time since 1782 that the British parliament refused a government request to enter a war. Could it be that British intelligence knew something the Americans did not, like perhaps the truth? After all, Cameron himself admitted that the UK intelligence was not 100 percent certain that the Assad government was responsible for the chemical attack. Whatever the case, with Washington’s foremost ally suddenly missing in action, Obama had nothing but respect for the US Constitution, which clearly states, Article 1, Section 8, “Congress shall have power…to declare war.” Just one day after Obama had his faith miraculously restored in the battered US Constitution, Secretary of State John Kerry announced that a little birdie informed him that sarin nerve gas was used in the Damascus attack. This revelation allowed Kerry to pull out the most-effective ploy in the PR bag of tricks: the noxious Nazi analogy. Bashar al-Assad now joins the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein who have used these weapons in time of war,” Kerry told NBC’s Face the Nation. Kerry called the attack an “affront against the decency and sensibilities of the world.”

Permalink British lawmakers pay 300,000 visits to adult sites as hobby in 2012

Computers at both lower and upper Houses of Parliament in Britain have been used to log on to ‘adult’ websites on over 300,000 occasions during the past year, official records have revealed. The shocking figures, released by Palace of Westminster IT bosses, show Members of Parliament (MPs), peers and parliamentary staff have been visiting pornographic websites more than 800 times per day in the last year. The data was logged through the parliamentary network from May last year through to July 2013. It was recently accessed after a freedom of information request was posted. Since the new findings, parliamentary officials have refused to say exactly what their IT systems classify as pornographic.

Permalink British PM avoids informing parliamentarians of facts about Syria conflict

British Prime Minister David Cameron, who hurriedly went to the Commons last week to get authorization to satisfy his warmongering appetite by invading Syria, had based his judgment on an assessment provided by Britain’s Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC). The JIC’s assessment on the Syrian chemical weapons attacks had claimed that “the Syrian regime was ‘highly likely’ to be responsible” for the attacks. But, there are other issues David Cameron refrained from equally informing the lawmakers about. Those issues and assessments as well as concerns and findings have been collected by the Global Research website, which are partly mentioned here as follows:
