Two drone strikes killed seven suspected al Qaeda militants civilians in southern Yemen on Saturday morning, a local official said, nine days after U.S. President Barack Obama said he would only use such strikes when a threat was "continuing and imminent" [no danger whatever]. Threat Matrix: Reports claim Al Nusrah Front members in Turkey were planning sarin gas attacks
PressTV: Turkey cannot be silent on sarin issue: Hisham Jaber - Video

Bill Van Auken: Syrian opposition fighters arrested with chemical weapons - The latest development in Turkey suggests that the Western-backed Islamist militias were preparing to launch another chemical weapons attack, apparently against a Turkish civilian population, with the aim of producing mass casualties that would be blamed on the Syrian regime and create the conditions for a US-led intervention. The silence of the US media on the incident only demonstrates that it is prepared to play the same role that it did in Iraq, working to sell a war based upon lies to the American public. The experience of the past decade of unending war, however, has made this task more difficult.

Permalink Beware of Kokesh and the CIA

There is something EVERYONE is missing with regard to Kokesh. It may be completely impossible to shut it down, because: The stats have been expunged from the web, but many of you may remember that the CIA, which already had a HUGE number of people, recently hired a million more. This means the CIA, which had at least 500,000 employees before they recently hired a million could fake the entire march, with 30,000 demonstrators in EVERY SINGLE STATE, and have all of them be CIA employees. Ever wonder what it is like to live in a tyranny? YOU GOT IT FOLKS, the monster is so huge now that it can stage massive movements, which are fake in their entirety. And having looked at the backlash to Kokesh in the blogs, it seems he has absolutely ZERO true support, yet he keeps getting stronger. There is only one way this could be happening - and that is if that support is coming directly from the CIA.

Permalink Obama appoints former Bush deputy attorney general to lead FBI

Last week, sources within the Obama administration announced the president’s plans to appoint James Comey as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He would replace Robert Mueller, who is scheduled to step down later this year.

Comey served as deputy and acting attorney general for the George W. Bush administration, where he participated in the attack on democratic rights by approving, among other measures, the administration’s domestic surveillance and torture programs. After playing a leading role in covering for the unprecedented unconstitutional actions of the Bush administration, Comey moved on to take a leading position with Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest weapons manufacturer. Comey worked as general counsel for Lockheed from 2005 to 2010, a period during which the company reaped immense profits off of contracts with Comey’s former employer, the US government, to build deadly weapons for use in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Permalink EU decision to lift Syrian oil sanctions boosts jihadist groups

Jabhat al-Nusra, an al-Qaida affiliate, consolidates position as scramble for control of wells accelerates. - The EU decision to lift Syrian oil sanctions to aid the opposition has accelerated a scramble for control over wells and pipelines in rebel-held areas and helped consolidate the grip of jihadist groups over the country's key resources. Jabhat al-Nusra, affiliated with al-Qaida and other extreme Islamist groups, control the majority of the oil wells in Deir Ezzor province, displacing local Sunni tribes, sometimes by force. They have also seized control of other fields from Kurdish groups further to the north-east, in al-Hasakah governorate. As opposition groups have turned their guns on each other in the battle over oil, water and agricultural land, military pressure on Bashar al-Assad's government from the north and east has eased off. In some areas, al-Nusra has struck deals with government forces to allow the transfer of crude across the front lines to the Mediterranean coast.
