A US analyst says the key pro-Israeli neo-con elements who ran the former George Bush administration’s foreign and military policies and planned the 9/11 attacks are now running the campaign of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Rejecting US President Barack Obama administration’s official account that the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 terror incidents in 2001, Osama Ben Laden, was killed by American forces and then dumped in the ocean, Kevin Barrett said in a Press TV article, “Real perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks are still at large.” “And what's worse is that they control most of the United States Federal Court system and mainstream media, and are running the campaign of presidential candidate Mitt Romney,” he adds. According to Barrett, Romney's top foreign policy advisor Rabbi Dov Zakheim is “one of the leading suspected hands-on designers and controllers of the Israeli-instigated 9/11 false-flag operation.”

The analyst further added that Zakheim, who was appointed on May 4, 2001 as the Comptroller of the US Defense Department, was responsible for the loss of over USD 2.3 trillion in Pentagon funds - equivalent to five times its annual budget - which was announced by the then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on September 10, 2001, just a day before the 9/11 events. The huge and mysterious loss of funds was actually estimated to be USD 9.1 trillion by CIA whistleblower Susan Lindauer, the article added.

“So what happened to the Pentagon's missing 2.3 trillion dollars (or 9.1 trillion dollars if you believe Susan Lindauer)?” Barrett asked. “The one thing we know for sure is that it has never been found...at least not officially. Lindauer says insiders know it was embezzled by agents of Israel. Interestingly, the Comptroller of the Pentagon - the man who was running the Pentagon's finances - was a known Israeli agent, Rabbi Dov Zakheim. (Yes, he really is a rabbi!)”

Quoting a recently-retired senior military affairs journalist at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterrey, California, Barbara Honegger, Barrett said, “The 9/11 attack on the Pentagon targeted the accountants who were on the trail of the missing trillions” and were killed in a “surgical bombing” that was carried out under the cover of “a nonexistent hijacked 757 crash at the Pentagon.”

Permalink NATO will "defend" Turkey against Syria as Ankara moves F-16s to border

NATO has promised to back Ankara in its escalating conflict with Syria, as Turkey adds 25 new F-16 fighter jets to its border protection force. It follows days of retaliation from Turkey after Syrian shells started coming over the border last month. - "We have all the necessary plans in place to protect and defend Turkey if necessary," NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told journalists before a defense ministers meeting in Brussels. Meanwhile, Turkish news agencies report that 25 F-16 jet fighters have arrived at the Diyarbakir base, 100 kilometers from the Syrian border. Local officials say the aircraft have been designated for operations in Kurdistan, the nearby zone of a long-simmering separatist conflict. A separate convoy of armed vehicles and transports carrying tanks arrived at another border town. Turkey has endorsed the uprising against Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad for the past 18 months, providing logistics, funding and safe havens for rebels on its side of the 900-kilometer border.

Permalink Romney's Foreign Policy: No Major Difference

Romney Offers Vague Rhetoric in ‘Major’ Foreign Policy Speech. Romney tried desperately - but failed - to differentiate himself from Obama on policy towards the Middle East. - Republican nominee for President Mitt Romney gave what was supposed to be a major speech on foreign policy on Monday, arguing that President Obama has not shown “leadership” and that “nowhere is this more evident than in the Middle East. ” But Romney’s speech was persistently vague, relying on rhetoric and mostly shying away from specific policy prescriptions. On each issue, he either hinted at the need for more belligerence or argued for precisely the same policies the Obama administration has carried out, while trying to present his identical take as fundamentally different.

Permalink IMF warns global economic slowdown deepens, prods U.S., Europe

The IMF said the global economic slowdown is worsening as it cut its growth forecasts for the second time since April and warned U.S. and European policymakers that failure to fix their economic ills would prolong the slump.

Global growth in advanced economies is too weak to bring down unemployment and what little momentum exists is coming primarily from central banks, the International Monetary Fund said in its World Economic Outlook, released ahead of its twice-yearly meeting, which will be held in Tokyo later this week.

"A key issue is whether the global economy is just hitting another bout of turbulence in what was always expected to be a slow and bumpy recovery or whether the current slowdown has a more lasting component," it said. "The answer depends on whether European and U.S. policymakers deal proactively with their major short-term economic challenges."

Ahead of the Tokyo meeting, policymakers have flagged the U.S. "fiscal cliff" -- government spending cuts and tax raises due to take affect early in 2013 -- and resolving the euro area's debt crisis as the top issues facing the global economy. Europe's debt crisis is "a clear and present danger", Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said last week. The IMF forecast in its latest health check on the world economy that global output in 2012 would grow just 3.3 percent, down from a July estimate of 3.5 percent. That would make this the slowest year of growth since 2009 when the world was struggling to pull out of the global financial crisis. It predicted only a modest pickup next year to 3.6 percent, below its July estimate of 3.9 percent.

Permalink Victims of Israeli Attacks in Gaza Contaminated with Uranium

Tests show strikingly similar results to Fallujah's uranium victims. - Israel is accused of using weapons that are highly illegal- internationally banned, during its latest attacks in Gaza. Palestine's Ministry of Health says the Israeli attacks lasted four days, more than 100 people were wounded and 25 killed. Dr. Medhat Abbas, General Director of Crisis Management Unit, Ministry of Health in Gaza, said, "Israel has used a heavy metal in the 33 weapons against Palestinian civilians during the aggression, including uranium." Dr. Busby maintains that the United States severely overstepped the boundaries of international law by using not just deadly depleted uranium, but actual U-235 enriched weapons-grade uranium from a neutron bomb - weapons that kill biological life but leave structures and landscape otherwise intact. In Gaza, Dr. Abbas stated that the effects of weapons of the Israeli occupation "banned internationally," appeared clearly in the bodies and body parts of martyrs of the bombardment.

Charlie Fuqua, the Republican candidate for the Arkansas House of Representatives who called for expelling Muslims from the United States in his book, also wrote in support for instituting the death penalty for "rebellious children." - In "God's Law," Fuqua's 2012 book, the candidate wrote that while parents love their children, a process could be set up to allow for the institution of the death penalty for "rebellious children," according to the Arkansas Times. Fuqua, who is anti-abortion, points out that the course of action involved in sentencing a child to death is described in the Bible and would involve judicial approval. While it is unlikely that many parents would seek to have their children killed by the government, Fuqua wrote, such power would serve as a way to stop rebellious children.

Permalink Britain Sending Troops to Syria to Join Rebel War on Damascus

London secret services have sent tens of British citizens to Syria to help rebel and terrorist groups in their fight against the Damascus government.

A former HSBC bank clerk is among as many as 50 British men fighting in Syria alongside rebels and terrorist groups. The men, predominantly of South Asian and North African backgrounds, are understood to have joined the Syrian terrorist groups since the battle began last year, according to security sources. The bank clerk, from Birmingham, is understood to have travelled to Syria earlier this year, about 12 months after leaving his job at HSBC, the Sunday Times reported. In addition to the former bank worker, a man in his early thirties of Pakistani origin, the Britons are understood to include an NHS doctor. In June, Daily Start reported that the British defense chiefs had drawn up secret plans to start covert military operations in Syria. The report said SAS troops and MI6 agents were in Syria ready to help armed rebels and terrorist groups if civil war breaks out as - expected this weekend. They also had hi-tech satellite computers and radios that could instantly send back photos and details of Assad's forces as the situation develops. Whitehall sources said it was vital they could see what was happening on the ground for themselves. "And if civil war breaks out the crack troops are on hand to help with fighting, said the insider," the report said. Permalink Free Syrian Army (FSA) Building Military Base for Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO)

The so-called Free Syrian Army, the main armed rebel group fighting President Bashar al-Assad’s government, announced that it has set up two battalions called ‘Martyr Saddam Hussein’ in the cities of Idlib and Deir al-Zour in Syria. - In a blatant act of defiance and in a move aimed at provoking the feelings of Kurds in general and Syrian Kurds in particular, the FSA formed the two battalions. Analysts believe that these acts, which are condemned and seen as worrisome by Kurds and all Syrians, might push the opponents to retract and backtrack on their moves against Bashar Assad’s government. Naming the FSA battalions after Saddam Hussein was met with overwhelming outrage and condemnation by the Kurds. Earlier reports also said that the FSA is building a military base for the anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, NCR and PMOI) in the bordering areas of Syria and Lebanon. The announcement was made yesterday by Basam al-Dad, a spokesman of the terrorist Free Syrian Army. Al-Dad claimed that the group wants to enjoy the experiences and combat skills of the MKO in different battle fronts. The MKO is blacklisted by much of the international community.
