Permalink Commentary by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ms. M.V. Zakharova, on the situation in Moldova

We have repeatedly expressed serious concern about the provocative pumping of Western weapons into Moldova. We are forced to pay attention to this subject again in connection with the ongoing deliveries of military equipment from the United States to Chisinau - the latest such shipment arrived in the republic in early August. According to the information published in the media, it concerns equipment and machinery for demining, small arms, including sniper rifles and machine guns, various types of grenades, as well as technical means of reconnaissance. In addition, it is noted that the issue of placement of American weapons depots in Moldova, which, according to Moldovan analysts, can be subsequently used to meet the needs of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine], is currently being studied. It is obvious that the "collective West", despite the neutral status enshrined in the constitution of Moldova, continues to actively involve it in the conflict in Ukraine. We have already repeatedly warned officials in Chisinau of the disastrous consequences of such steps. We note the consistent transformation of Moldova into a logistical appendage of the Kyiv regime. At the same time, we cannot but be concerned by the information that the issue of the delivery of military cargo through Moldovan territory is being worked out. ⚠️ In this connection, we should like to warn [the] official Chisinau against becoming more deeply involved in the process of "supporting" Ukraine, which will not only jeopardize stability and security in the region, but will actually turn Moldova into an accomplice in the war crimes of the Kyiv regime. Permalink Ex-Georgian leader Saakashvili fully responsible for 2008 war – Medvedev

Reckless decisions have made Saakashvili a pariah in his own country, the former Russian president has said | Former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has paid the price for instigating the 2008 conflict with Russia, ending up as a pariah in his own country, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with RT and TASS news agency on Friday.  The five-day war erupted on the night of August 8, 2008, when the US-backed Saakashvili sent troops into Georgia’s breakaway region of South Ossetia, shelling the base of Russian peacekeepers in the process. Moscow recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, another breakaway region, on August 26, shortly after defeating the Georgian Army.  Medvedev was president at the time, and ordered the Russian forces to intervene when the Georgian Army attacked Russian peacekeepers, who had been stationed in South Ossetia since the 1990s. He said that Saakashvili bears full responsibility for the bloodshed of 15 years ago.

The expansion of the BRICS, as a new starting point for multilateral cooperation, will play a positive role for more equitable and just global governance, experts said.  The BRICS countries have decided to invite six countries - Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates - to become new members of the grouping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Thursday. It will be the first expansion since 2010 and the new candidates will be admitted as members on January 1, 2024, according to media reports.

Dystopian future in black and white – funded by the UK Government | In seven years you might not be allowed to own car, only be allowed to buy three new pieces of clothing per year, take one short-haul return flight every three years and consume no meat whatsoever, thanks to plans drawn up by a group chaired by Sadiq Khan.  Documents that many may not be aware of show him as the chairman of C40 Cities, which describes itself as a ‘global network of nearly 100 mayors of the world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront the climate crisis’.  So-called ‘ambitious targets’ include reducing the number of new clothing items each person is allowed to buy to three per year and banning private car ownership by 2030 – plans which would surely mean an end to many businesses, thus trashing the economy further than it already is.

The Russian president described the Wagner chief as “a talented man” | Evgeny Prigozhin was a man of many talents who made a “significant contribution” to the struggle against neo-Nazis in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, commenting on the plane crash that reportedly killed the Wagner Group head. Speaking with journalists at the Kremlin, Putin said that he had known Prigozhin since the early 1990s, and described him as “a man of complicated destiny. ” Prigozhin was on the passenger manifest of the Embraer private jet that crashed on Wednesday in the Tver Region, en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg. All seven passengers and three crew members perished. Authorities are still working to identify the bodies, but Prigozhin is presumed to be among them, along with six other Wagner leaders. Putin expressed his sincere condolences to their families and vowed that the investigation into the crash would be thorough.

Permalink Depleted Uranium Munitions Make Ukraine 'Unlivable' - Moscow

Deliveries of depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine by Western countries lead to radiation contamination of soils in the country and make it uninhabitable, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. | "Due to the supply of radioactive and highly toxic British and American depleted uranium munitions, Ukraine is turning into an uninhabitable land. Radiation contamination of the soil is already happening and is being objectively recorded," Zakharova said in an article on the kp.ru website. She said the consequences of the use of such munitions could also affect neighboring Poland, where in May this year, as in the Khmelnytsky Region of Ukraine, there was a significant surge in background radiation. [Check below]

Article by M.V.Zakharova in the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" (August 25, 2023) | The living earth and the dead | Read in full (Telegraph)
☝️ Using depleted uranium as an armor-piercing weapon was invented by the Nazis. In 1943, there was a breakdown in the supply of Wolframite and the Reich Minister of Armaments and War Production of Nazi Germany Albert Speer ordered the use of depleted uranium.  At that time it was not yet obvious how dangerous uranium was as a weapon, and until the 90s all data on this issue were controversial. However, the use of depleted uranium munitions by NATO troops during the aggression in Yugoslavia was an inhuman experiment and demonstrated the real consequences of its use on living people.  In 2015-2017, the Italian Parliament (the country whose contingent used depleted uranium munitions most actively during the NATO aggression in the Balkans) issued a 252-page report on the effects of depleted uranium and radioactive thorium exposure on members of the Italian Armed Forces. The data on the Italian military were published: out of 7500 people exposed to toxic substances and radiation, 372 died (5% - lethality: every 20th person). And they died of excruciating cancer complications.  Now, unfortunately, the threat that Russia has repeatedly warned the Ukrainian population about is confirmed on Ukrainian territory.
👉 Here are the figures for the Khmelnytskyi region of Ukraine. In May, a significant spike in radiation background was recorded there - from 80 nanosieverts to 140-160 nanosieverts. A characteristic peak - a spike in radioactivity - was also recorded in the same numbers in the western provinces of Poland. The cause is probably the same as in Ukraine: the explosion of depleted uranium ammunition placed in a depot in the city of Khmelnytskyi.
⚠️ Ukrainians should realize that the British are supplying real poison - a guarantee of cancerous tumors - and demand that depleted uranium shells be removed from the country as soon as possible. [Transl.: DeepL.com + Proof.: grammarly.com]

Permalink German Courts Are Going FULL Dystopia

It’s been an astonishing couple of days for German judges. Well, “astonishing” if you’ve been living in a cave for the last four years. | Many of you likely already know that satirist and playwright (and frequent OffG contributor) CJ Hopkins is being prosecuted in Germany for “disseminating propaganda, the contents of which are intended to further the aims of a former National Socialist organization,” All because the cover of his book has a swastika on it. Needless to say, the charges are absurd. Insultingly so. You can read CJ’s first-hand account of this nonsense here and here. Anyone who isn’t a) stupid or b) delusional can plainly see these charges have nothing to do with a stock-image swastika, and everything to do with the content of the book. In short, they are politically motivated charges brought against an author for criticizing the state. The very essence of dystopian tyranny.

Permalink Return of COVID Restrictions? Do NOT Comply, Be PREPARED!

We know that COVID numbers are actually on the rise again – in part due to the American government’s absolutely disastrous vaccine policy. | As Dr. Peter McCullough wrote this week, “there is no doubt we are starting another outbreak of COVID-19, this time Omicron variants EG.5 and FL.1.5.1 taking the lead in proportions.” Dr. McCullough warns that this surge could last 3 to 6 months. As we learned time and time again during the pandemic, our government will use any increase in COVID numbers as a justification to force masks, lockdowns and vaccine passports on the American public. Will this new surge lead to another round of masks and lockdowns? Only if we allow it. Conservatives all across social media are urging patriots to “not comply” if restrictions return. These voices are absolutely correct, we need to stand strong and refuse to go along with these violations of our basic freedoms. There is more that we can do however, we can also BE PREPARED.

Permalink Superhumans with ‘Yeti blood’: These people are able to withstand extreme conditions, and science might finally know how

Vikram Sharma | A new Indian study has uncovered the secret of the Sherpa people’s genes that allows them to survive in the most extreme conditions | As he climbed Mount Everest’s Lhotse ice wall, Sameer Nicholas Patham struggled to breathe despite his supplementary oxygen. Here, where temperatures drop to -30° Celsius and the ambient oxygen is 70% lower than we breathe at sea level, every step was torture.  But his Sherpa friends calmly and easily climbed past, carrying an average weight of 16kg. “They are superhumans,” recalls Sameer, who experienced firsthand what he describes as the incredible feats of the Sherpas, a Tibetan ethnic group globally known for their natural mountaineering skills.  Yet if the same Sherpas were to visit Varanasi and fall sick, the hospital’s doctors would find that they had high blood pressure and low hemoglobin compared to average plains dwellers. Often such Sherpas were prescribed unnecessary medication. And though Chinese and American scientists had isolated the gene that allowed high-altitude adaptation, a biochemical analysis was always lacking – until a recent deep study by a team of Indian scientists investigated how Himalayans have survived in their challenging habitat for centuries.  The Sherpa people are world-famous for high-altitude living and mountaineering. According to the 2011 census, there were some 16,012 Sherpas in India. Though there are other high-altitude Himalayan ethnic groups, the Sherpas dominate the portering profession to the extent that porters are commonly called “Sherpas” by outsiders.  Other high-altitude ethnic groups include the Tibetans, inhabiting the Tibet Autonomous Region, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan and Yunnan in China; they are also found in India, Bhutan and Nepal. There are 182,685 Tibetans in India, scattered in Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Karnataka and Uttarakhand. Then there are the Lepchas, an aboriginal tribe of Darjeeling and Sikkim, in the Himalayas, calling themselves “Rong Migyit” (Lepcha people). They number 47,331. Additionally, the Bhutia tribe is scattered around the Himalayan region and number 229,954.

Just when you may have thought things couldn’t get any crazier: American playwright and humorist C.J. Hopkins, profiled in this space on numerous occasions, has been sent a “punishment order” by a German judge, offering him a Sophie’s Choice of 60 days in jail or 3,600 euros. | Essentially, insulting the German health minister in a tweet, and using a scarcely-visible image of a Swastika on a mask in a book critical of the global pandemic response, The Rise of the New Normal Reich.  He was first accused of this “crime” in June, shortly after Roger Waters was placed under investigation for wearing his clearly satirical “Pink” costume in a stage performance in Berlin.  As I wrote when C.J. was charged weeks later, authorities claim that through the use of the mask image, C.J. was “disseminating propaganda, the contents of which are intended to further the aims of a former National Socialist organization.”  The judge in C.J.’s case has already heard free-speech argumentation from his lawyer, and this technically being a non-jury misdemeanor offense, has already ruled against those arguments. C.J. will apparently have a chance to argue for mitigation, but the decree has already been handed down.

Kit Klarenberg | This week marks the 60th anniversary of the military coup orchestrated by the CIA and MI6 that overthrew Iran’s then-Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq and his cabinet. | Working in tandem, British and American spies waged a devastatingly effective covert campaign using saboteurs, staged protests, false flag bombings, and assassinations, which ultimately put the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi on a more brutal and dictatorial footing for the ensuing two and a half decades.  The coup’s history is fairly well-known - not least because the CIA has openly admitted responsibility for the mass violence and upheaval that unseated Mosaddeq on that fateful day, and many documents outlining its cloak-and-dagger activities during this period are in the public domain.  Yet, MI6’s central role remains largely unknown. Now, the sordid tale - or, what can be pieced together from an incomplete, thoroughly weeded archival record - must be told.

A surprisingly blunt and revealing Friday report in The New York Times cites US officials who estimate that total war casualties in Ukraine among both sides are at nearly 500,000 dead and wounded. 💬 "The number includes as many as 120,000 deaths and 170,000 to 180,000 injured troops," the Times wrote based on the unnamed officials. "The Russian numbers dwarf the Ukrainian figures, which the officials put at close to 70,000 killed and 100,000 to 120,000 wounded."  To put these grim and tragic figures in perspective, the United States military involvement in Vietnam over the course of a nearly two-decade period resulted in about 58,000 Americans killed.

Moscow will use any weaponry in its possession to retaliate against a potential attack on its main ally, Russia’s envoy says | Russia will treat any attack on Belarus as an act of aggression against itself, using all of its military capabilities to retaliate, Moscow’s envoy to the country has warned. Speaking to the Belarusian STV broadcaster, Boris Gryzlov, who previously served as Russian interior minister, warned any third parties against targeting the country’s main ally.  Russia and Belarus have ramped up their military cooperation since the start of the conflict between Moscow and Kiev. Earlier this year, Russia announced the deployment of its nuclear weapons in Belarus, following repeated requests from Minsk to do so. The Belarusian leadership cited aggressive Western policies and the perceived threat posed by US nuclear weapons, hosted by European allies in Washington.  In recent years, Belarus has experienced tensions with its largest EU neighbor, Poland. The two nations have seen their ties gradually deteriorate since the 2020 presidential election in Belarus, which prompted mass protests in the country while its outcome was contested by the opposition. Warsaw, as well as the EU as a whole, openly backed the opposition in its ultimately unsuccessful effort to unseat President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
