A candidate in Ecuador's forthcoming presidential election who has campaigned against corruption and gangs has been shot dead at a campaign rally. | Fernando Villavicencio, a member of the country's national assembly, was attacked as he left the event in the capital, Quito, on Wednesday. He is one of the few candidates to allege links between organised crime and government officials in Ecuador. A criminal gang called Los Lobos (The Wolves) has claimed responsibility. Los Lobos is the second-largest gang in Ecuador with some 8,000 members, many of whom are behind bars. The gang has been involved in a number of recent deadly prison fights, in which scores of inmates have been brutally killed.

New official figures have been published that reveal the overwhelming number of people who died from Covid had received three or more shots of mRNA vaccines for the virus. | The data reveals that the triple+ vaccinated population accounted for 92% of Covid-19 deaths throughout the entirety of 2022. The figures also show that 9 in every 10 Covid deaths in England over the past two years had received three or more of the shots. On the 21st of February 2023, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), a UK Government agency, quietly published data on deaths by vaccination status in England up to 31st December 2022. The overdue dataset from the ONS is titled “Deaths by Vaccination Status, England, 1 April 2021 to 31 December 2022.” The data can be accessed on the ONS site here, and downloaded here.

House Republicans say the president’s son Hunter sold favors and have published receipts | The House Oversight Committee on Wednesday published receipts showing Hunter Biden, the son of current US President Joe Biden, receiving money from Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan by trading on the family name. The committee says it has identified $20 million in payments from foreign sources to Hunter Biden’s company, which they describe as a front to sell access to the “Biden network” while his father was Barack Obama’s vice president (2009-2017). 💬 “During Joe Biden’s vice presidency, Hunter Biden sold him as ‘the brand’ to reap millions from oligarchs in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine. It appears no real services were provided other than access to the Biden network, including Joe Biden himself. And Hunter Biden seems to have delivered,” said committee chair James Comer, a Kentucky Republican.

French special forces attacked a military outpost of the Niger National Guard and violated its airspace, according to an official statement by the country's military authorities. | According to Niger's military authorities, French special forces conducted an operation to free imprisoned members of the deposed government and leaders of terrorist organizations. ■ The Niger authorities said that 16 leaders of terrorist groups arrested in June were released by the French armed forces. They further added that it appeared that the French objective was to protect armed cells that were about to operate within the country. ■ Immediately after the announcement, the CNSP (Niger's military authorities) announced in a press release that the level of alert of the armed forces had been raised. "This decision follows a terrorist attack on a garrison. The CNSP is now accusing France of releasing terrorists in the region," Niger sources said. ■ Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Niger has issued an "Emergency Security Warning" advising any US Citizen still in the capital Niamey to take immediate shelter until further notice and not to attempt to enter the city center near the Presidential Palace. A curfew has also been implemented for U.S. Embassy Staff due to the ongoing situation. ■ According to the Niger National Guard: Early today, a French military A400M aircraft took off from N'Djamena (Chad) and entered stealth mode to violate Niger's airspace between 6:39 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. This mode of operation is similar to that used by French forces to provide support to their terrorist partners in Mali. ■ A few weeks ago, the French army released 16 terrorists and helped them plan attacks against the military forces of Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali in the Three Borders region. The terrorists released by the French army were subsequently arrested during three operations in June and July 2023 (two in Niger, one in Mali) and confessed about the assistance they had received from the French army. →

Media loved her when she published a study that seemed to show a dramatic increase in hurricane intensity. "We found that the percent of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes had doubled," says Curry. "This was picked up by the media," and then climate alarmists realized, "Oh, here is the way to do it. Tie extreme weather events to global warming!" "So, this hysteria is your fault!" I tell her. "Not really," she smiles. "They would have picked up on it anyways." But Curry's "more intense" hurricanes gave them fuel.
