On December 14, 2012, Dr. Eran Elhaik turned almost two generations of Jewish genome research upside down. But he went even further. The young Israeli-American geneticist has charged former researchers with academic fraud, and he has the research to back it up. How could those those eminent Jewish scientist before him have been so wrong? Easy says Dr. Elhaik, “First these researchers decided what conclusions they wanted to find, and then they set off to find evidence to support it.” I was not bashing Jewish scientists. What Elhaik has described is a slam dunk fraud. But why? Why would Jews who take such pride in the academic achievement risk exposing themselves to a group deception which was bound to be discovered later? Dr. Elhaik does not delve into the quicksand of the politics, but I will gladly do so. They perpetrated the fraud solely to support the bogus biblical claim to Palestine which was anchored in their being a separate people. This distinguished them from all others because they claimed a land title in their blood. They bet the farm on this DNA proof of purchase, a God given bar coded passport to the Palestine. Dr. Ehaik just erased the bar code. It was just stamped on anyway, because it was never in the blood. To that you can add his findings that in both groups their genome is mostly Western European. Surprise, surprise. The Roman empire is the dominant lineage there, those that settled on the frontier, like retired soldiers, and the locals with whom they produced families. There were some Jewish merchants there as Elhaik did find some Middle Eastern roots which he suspects are Mesopotamian and a bit of biblical Israel. But here comes the slam dunk…the Israel connection is such a tiny part of their overall genome that it cancels out their DNA title claim to the Land. Eran Elhaik: The Missing Link of Jewish European Ancestry: Contrasting the Rhineland and the Khazarian Hypotheses. (Eran Elhaik, Ph.D.) - Abstract: The question of Jewish ancestry has been the subject of controversy for over two centuries and has yet to be resolved. The “Rhineland hypothesis” depicts Eastern European Jews as a “population isolate” that emerged from a small group of German Jews who migrated eastward and expanded rapidly. Alternatively, the “Khazarian hypothesis” suggests that Eastern European Jews descended from the Khazars, anamalgam of Turkic clans that settled the Caucasus in the early centuries CE and converted to Judaism in the 8th century. Mesopotamian and Greco–Roman Jews continuously reinforced the Judaized empire until the 13th century. Following the collapse of their empire, the Judeo–Khazars fled to Eastern Europe. The rise of European Jewry is therefore explained by the contribution of the Judeo–Khazars. Thus far, however, the Khazars’ contribution has been estimated only empirically, as the absence of genome-wide data from Caucasus populations precluded testing the Khazarian hypothesis. Recent sequencing of modern Caucasus populations prompted us to revisit the Khazarian hypothesis and compare it with the Rhineland hypothesis. We applied a wide range of population genetic analyses to compare these two hypotheses. Our findings support the Khazarian hypothesis and portray the European Jewish genome as a mosaic of Near Eastern-Caucasus, European, and Semitic ancestries, thereby consolidating previous contradictory reports of Jewish ancestry. We further describe a major difference among Caucasus populations explained by the early presence of Judeans in the Southern and Central Caucasus. Our results have important implications for the demographic forces that shaped the genetic diversity in the Caucasus and for medical studies.

(Eran Elhaik, Ph.D.) - Discussion: (Pages 71-72) A major difficulty with the Rhineland hypothesis, in addition to the lack of historical and anthropological evidence to the multimigration waves from Palestine to Europe (Straten 2003; Sand 2009), is to explain the vast population expansion of Eastern European Jews from fifty thousand (15th century) to eight million (20th century). The annual growth rate that accounts for this population expansion was estimated at 1.7-2%, one order of magnitude larger than that of Eastern European non-Jews in the 15th-17th centuries, prior to the industrial revolution (Straten 2007). This growth could not possibly be the product of natural population expansion, particularly one subjected to severe economic restrictions, slavery, assimilation, the Black Death and other plagues, forced and voluntary conversions, persecutions, kidnappings, rapes, exiles, wars, massacres, and pogroms (Koestler 1976; Straten 2003; Sand 2009). Because such an unnatural growth rate, over half a millennium and affecting only Jews residing in Eastern Europe, is implausible - it is explained by a miracle (Atzmon et al. 2010; Ostrer 2012). Unfortunately, this divine intervention explanation poses a new kind of problem - it is not science. The question of how the Rhineland hypothesis, so deeply rooted in supernatural reasoning, became the dominant scientific narrative is debated among scholars (Sand 2009).

New bus lines connecting the West Bank with Israel have sparked controversy. Despite claims they are regular lines, Israeli media believe they were set up specifically for Palestinians, in order to segregate them from Jewish settlers. - Leaflets in Arabic have lately been spread around the West Bank Palestinian villages, calling on their inhabitants to use the new bus lines, which will go from Eyal crossing near the city of Qalqilya to Israel, Ynetnews reported. The official reason for introducing new bus lines is that the existing “mixed” ones are overcrowded and conflict-prone. Around 30,000 Palestinians work in Israel and have to travel there every day. Plans to put them on separate bus lines were first announced in November 2012, following several episodes of police taking Palestinian laborers off buses from Tel Aviv to the West Bank. The police acted on complaints from Jewish settlers, who claimed that Palestinians posed a security threat by riding the same buses as them.

Syrian army soldiers have killed two leaders of the foreign-sponsored militant groups in the country during separate mop-up operations in the provinces of Hama and Homs. - On Sunday, Syrian troops repelled a militant attack on a military checkpoint in the Muhardeh district of the western province of Hama, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported. A local militant leader of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra, identified as Suhaib Hassan al-Najeb, was killed in the process, SANA said. Unrest has gripped Syria for nearly two years, and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said that the government did not start the conflict and the militant groups were the ones killing Syrian citizens and destroying the country’s infrastructure.

He went on to warn of 'grave' consequences if the West armed its rebels. Assad said that Britain has been unconstructive in its attempts to militarise the rebels. In an interview with the Sunday Times he said Britain was sacrificing peace talks to push for an end to an EU arms embargo, which would allow rebels to be armed. Warning this would accelerate the road to war, he rejected the possibility of help from Britain to end the conflict, saying: 'We do not expect an arsonist to be a firefighter.' Buried in [a New York Times] story today about Secretary of State John Kerry’s announcement that the United States will increase aid to the rebels, including medical supplies and those always tasty MREs (“Meals Ready to Eat”), was this previously unreported nugget: A covert program to train rebel fighters, which State Department officials here were not prepared to discuss, has also been under way. According to an official in Washington, who asked not to be identified, the CIA since last year has been training groups of Syrian rebels in Jordan.

"Last week, Netanyahu travelled to Jordan and met King Abdullah II" and they discussed the Middle East "peace process" [war], a diplomatic source told AFP on the condition of anonymity on Saturday. Netanyahu and King Abdullah II also had met in December in Jordan where they held talks on Syria "unrest" [war].

A Lebanese news website says it has obtained a documentary "movie" revealing a plot hatched by French and Turkish spy agencies to assassinate Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. - Lebanese Asianews website says the movie, which has been produced by the well-known Syrian media activist Khedar Awarake, shows confessions by those who were on a joint mission to kill top Syrian officials. According to the report, Syrian security organizations have recently defused assassination attempts by Turkey and France's intelligence agencies on the lives of Assad and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem. The report added that Turkish and French spy agencies have set up a joint operation room aimed at accomplishing the assassination mission. It added that their mission had overlapped with operations of security services of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the US on many times.

A former US National Security Agency officer says the 9/11 investigative author Philip Marshall and his children were killed in a “black ops hit” by the CIA, dismissing the suicide hypothesis. - Wayne Madsen said in a show organized by Kevin Barrett, a founder of The Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance, that he had reached the conclusion after a weeklong investigation. Marshall was afraid of being silenced for his revelations about 9/11, Madsen said, noting that a side door the investigator never used was wide open when his dead body was found. Along with Marshall, 14-year-old Micalia and her 17-year-old brother Alex were also found dead. Madsen suggested that Marshall, who had observed many covert operations, had decided to shed light on mysterious issues in the last years of his life. According to Madsen, the crime scene was cleaned up by professionals, and there was also “an SUV, license plate undetermined, with an array of communication antennas bristling from the roof” outside the building. A top Chinese banker said Beijing is "fully prepared" for a currency war as he urged the world to abide by a consensus reached by the G20 to avert confrontation, state media reported on Saturday. - Yi Gang, deputy governor of China's central bank, issued the call after G20 finance ministers last month moved to calm fears of a looming war on the currency markets at a meeting in Moscow. Those fears have largely been fuelled by the recent steep decline in the Japanese yen, which critics have accused Tokyo of manipulating to give its manufacturers a competitive edge in key export markets over Asian rivals. Yi said a currency war could be avoided if major countries observed the G20 consensus that monetary policy should primarily serve as a tool for domestic economy, the Xinhua report said.
