Permalink Shock Medical Law: We Need to Have A “Short 5 Minute PRIVATE Conversation With Your Child”

Do the government and its ancillaries have ownership over your child? Do they have the power to detain and question a child without parental permission? Apparently they think they do according to a new Michigan medical records access law which requires doctors to have a private conversation with minors when their parents bring them in for medical care. This is the notice Christy Duffy saw posted at her physician’s office when she brought her 17-year old daughter in for a minor foot injury. When Mrs. Duffy returned home she penned the following public service announcement warning parents about what to expect the next time they visit their doctor:

Let’s get one thing straight: no doctor or nurse is going to sequester my children in an exam room and talk to them privately. Period. This public service announcement made necessary because of this sign, posted at the check-in counter of my doctor’s office. I was there last week for an appointment for Amy. She hurt her foot, which makes dancing difficult, so we had to get that checked out. Amy is 17; I asked if this policy was in effect and if so, how could I opt out. The receptionist told me it’s a new law and there is no opting out. Working to keep my cool, I said, “I’m sure there is.” She said, “No, there isn’t.” At which point I asked if I needed to leave and go to the urgent care center because I was not submitting my daughter to such a conversation. That did not go over well.

Permalink Reset The Net - The NSA Faces a Tech Insurgency

A coalition of digital rights groups and Internet companies has launched a campaign, to encourage individuals and companies to help short circuit the NSA's domestic spying program. The "Reset the Net" campaign launched today, on the one year anniversary of the Snowden leaks. The idea behind the project, is that if the U.S. government won't end its domestic spying program, then the people should take steps to make the NSA's job difficult if not impossible, starting with our own computers. The official website focuses on a set of free apps that encrypt communications or hide their source. They're calling it the Privacy Pack. Much of the technology listed in the pack is not new, what is new is the push to get the masses to use them. This is an interesting concept, not from an individual standpoint so much as from a herd immunity standpoint. If only used by a small number of people, these apps probably wouldn't present much of a barrier to the NSA. For example, we already know that the U.S. government is actively monitoring the Tor network and is creating thousands of fake accounts in order to establish the identities of those using it. But applied on a large scale, with users encrypting the majority of their communications from end to end, this would inherently slow the NSA down and make it much harder for them to maintain a 360 degree view of our online activities.

Permalink International observers endorse Syrian elections

Syria’s first multi-candidate presidential election in more than 40 years has begun earlier today. Facing strong and mostly hypocritical critisism from the West, the poll is about to demonstrate the real scale of public support President Assad is enjoying inside the country, heroically resisting foreign-sponsored aggression for more than three years. Expected pro-Assad voting in Syria would completely ruin Western narrative about a “tyrant killing his people”, so international mainstream media are dumn or emphatically skeptical about elections in a “war-torn country” (as if Ukraine or Afghanistan were peaceful resorts during balloting). Fortunately, there is a group of brave and unindifferent citizens present there in Syria ready to share their observations with the international audience.

Stephen Lendman Syrians Vote || June 3 was historic. It was Syria's first ever free, fair, open democratic presidential election. Hassan al-Nouri and Maher Hajjar competed with Assad. He's overwhelmingly popular. He'll win easily. Only his victory margin remains to be determined. Syrians want no one else leading them. Especially while conflict continues. He's fighting for Syrian freedom. He's defeating Obama's dirty game. [...] It bears repeating. Syria's election was open, free and fair. It mocked America's sham process.

Permalink ECONOMIC COLLAPSE: Steve Forbes predicts a Stock Market Crash worse than 1930's

The truth about the elites agenda is about to ‘slap us in the face’. No longer do they hide behind closed doors—no—they are wide open about their cause and they are laughing at the masses while secretly planning our economic downfall. The collapse of the dollar will be the single largest event in human history. It will be the first event that touches every single person living in the world. All human activity is controlled by money. Our work, our wealth, our government, our food, even our relationships are affected by money. No money in history has had as much of an impact as the dollar. It is the de facto world currency. All other currency collapses will pale in comparison to this one. This collapse will be worldwide and it will take down not only the dollar but all other fiat currencies, as they are essentially no different. This collapse will lead to the collapse of all paper assets and the consequences to this will have inconceivable results universally. The president and CEO of Forbes Magazine, Steve Forbes, made this staggering statement about the economy and where are headed…..(Source)

Permalink European Central Bank cuts interest rate below zero

The European Central Bank (ECB) slashed one of its interest rates to negative territory and unveiled a €400bn loan package for Europe’s banks in response to the ongoing economic slump and the threat of deflation. At its meeting in Frankfurt Thursday, the central bank cut its main lending rate to 0.15 percent from its current historic low of 0.25 percent, and its overnight deposit rate from zero to minus 0.10 percent, becoming the largest central bank to lower rates to below zero. The move is an expression of the fact that, nearly six years since the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the world economy remains mired in deep crisis, for which the world’s central banks have no solution outside of pumping trillions into banks and financial firms. While trillions are handed out to the banks, workers throughout the continent are told that there is “no money” to pay for pensions, social programs, and healthcare benefits.
