Permalink THE PRESIDENT SANS COJONES

When I posted THIS, it was with the hope that things might change …. and indeed they have; THEY HAVE GOTTEN WORSE!

Over the past few months there was much talk about settlement freeze in the Occupied West Bank. Offers were made, BILLION$ were given, blackmails were attempted ….. but the settlements continue to grow and new ones are springing up.

How can President Obama look at the American people in the eye as he continues to STEAL their hard earned tax dollars by doing the following…..

US vetoes anti-settlement resolution

WASHINGTON – The United States vetoed the Palestinian proposal to condemn settlement construction by Israel at the United Nations Security Council Friday.

The other 14 Council members voted in favor of the draft resolution. But the US, as one of the five permanent council members with the power to block any action by the Security Council, voted against it and struck it down.[Source]

Permalink Hackers shutdown Canada gov't database

Canada's Finance Department and Treasury Board have been forced to cut their internet servers after hackers gained access to government databases. The Canadian Treasury Board -- which supervises bureaucratic and government operations -- released a statement saying it had detected an "unauthorized attempt to access its networks.”

The hackers also targeted Defense Research and Development Canada -- a civilian branch of the National Defense Department that supports science and technology matters for the Canadian Forces. Computers of senior government officials were accessed by hackers in an effort to steal passwords to unlock government data systems. The hackers used a technique known as “executive spear phishing.” They first targeted the computers of senior officials in the departments. They then created messages that appeared to be from those officials to contact the information technology (IT) section that handed over passwords of various government computer systems. The cyber-attack has been traced back to Chinese computer servers, but Beijing has denied any involvement.

Permalink Gallup: US unemployment worsens

A Gallup survey indicates that employment rate in the United States is not rising, thus damping hopes that the country's high levels of unemployment will reduce anytime soon. The influential private organization's survey shows the unemployment rate rose to 10 percent in mid February from 9.8 percent at the end of January, Xinhua news agency reported on Friday. The rise in the under-employment rate was largely the result of a sharp increase in the number of people working part-time but seeking full-time employment, the study found. The US unemployment rate stands near last year's level of 19.8 percent. Dennis Jacobe, chief economist at Gallup, said the surge in under-employment is "troubling," as current conditions in the job market have barely improved compared to how they were this time a year ago.

Permalink Libya is off the Internet

Renesys confirms that the 13 globally routed Libyan network prefixes were withdrawn at 23:18 GMT (Friday night, 1:18am Saturday local time), and Libya is off the Internet. One Libyan route originated by Telecom Italia directly is still BGP-reachable, but inbound traceroutes appear to die in Palermo. A minority of our peers report some surviving paths through the peering connection between Level3 and Telecom Italia, but traceroutes into those prefixes fail, suggesting that the Libyan cutoff is complete. We wondered whether anyone would repeat Egypt's strategy. Tonight, it appears that we have our answer.

Human Rights Watch: Libya: Security Forces Kill 84 Over Three Days

NYT: "The international community is watching...why isn't anyone helping us?" Clashes in Libya Worsen as Army Crushes Dissent -Thousands gathered Friday for a third day of violent demonstrations in Benghazi, Libya’s second-largest city, in an unprecedented challenge to the mercurial 41-year reign of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi. Human rights groups said 24 people had been killed across the North African country, though activists say the count may be far higher. The escalating unrest bears the hallmarks of uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia, as protesters copy slogans heard there.

Permalink Ousted Madagascar president blocked from going home

JOHANNESBURG — Former Madagascan president Marc Ravalomanana was blocked from leaving South Africa Saturday, after an airline refused to give him a boarding pass citing a letter from the Madagascan civil aviation authority.

"I am going to Madagascar for peace not war, why are they stopping me here now," a visibly irate Ravolomanana told journalists at the OR Tambo airport after an Airlink flight staff member told him she could not issue him with a boarding pass.

He was shown a letter from the Madagascan civil aviation authority which read: "Mr Ravolomanana Marc and company are non grata persons in Madagascar. So to preserve public order don't take them aboard."
