Permalink Climategate U-turn as scientist at centre of row admits: There has been no global warming since 1995

►Data for vital 'hockey stick graph' has gone missing. ►There has been no global warming since 1995. ►Warming periods have happened before - but NOT due to man-made changes.

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information. Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers. Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’. The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory. Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon. AWIP/Henrik Svensmark: Svensmark: “global warming stopped and a cooling is beginning” – “enjoy global warming while it lasts”.

Permalink US-led raid kills civilians in Afghanistan

US-led forces have killed at least five people, including three women, in a night raid in the troubled eastern Afghanistan. In a statement NATO said that the incident took place on Thursday night in the Gardez district, and that several "militants" were killed in the crossfire. "Several insurgents engaged the joint force in a fire fight and were killed," the statement read. BBC: 12 Civilians killed in Afghan offensive. Star Tribune: NATO rockets miss target, kill 12 Afghan civilians in military offensive against Taliban. There's a military censorship in effect and scarcely any photos make it to the independent (non-mainstream) media. Permalink Israel is waging a covert assassination campaign across the Middle East

Israeli agents have been targeting meetings between members of Hamas and the leadership of the militant Hezbollah group, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. They are also suspected of recent killings in Dubai, Damascus and Beirut. While Israel’s Mossad spy agency has been suspected of staging assassinations across the world since the 1970s, it does not officially acknowledge or admit its activities.

Permalink Britain: Tonge sacked for Israeli organ theft in Haiti comments

Baroness Tonge told the Jewish Chronicle on Friday that there should be an inquiry into reports that Israeli forces harvested the organs of victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. "To prevent allegations such as these — which have already been posted on You Tube — going any further, the IDF and the Israeli Medical Association should establish an independent inquiry immediately to clear the names of the team in Haiti," she said.

In response, Liberal Democrat Party Leader Nick Clegg sacked Tonge and dismissed her comments as unacceptable, provocative, and distasteful.

Grovel, grovel, bow and scrape:
kowtow, crawl and lick their boots.
Fawn and flatter, curry favor
from morning until late at night:

We cater to their every need,
and keenly heed their faintest call.
We excuse their cruelest deeds
and blame the victims, one and all
(even babes killed in mother's arms.)

We're goyim; they the Chosen ones.
Lest we incur their righteous wrath,
we cower, lower and demean ourselves
and obediently keep note: always be umble.

Permalink The Tea Party & Sarah Palin

Really, completely normal behavior. I don't understand why everyone laughs at them. Best quote ever, from a guy wearing a friggin' cape: "Like when you step on a snake, I'll strike". Yeah, we're cowering in fear.

Permalink Tina Fey: People hated me after Palin impression on SNL

Ok, admittedly, the picture of her in front of the New York City skyline in Mickey Mouse ears may not exactly be what most consider "normal," but Tina Fey swears she is. The actress and comedienne is featured in Vogue's March issue, and she wants everyone to know that in a world run rampant by celebrity craziness, she's a champion for the average. "I feel like I represent normalcy in some way," she said in the interview.

"What are your choices today in entertainment? People either represent youth, power, or sexuality. And then there’s me, carrying normalcy.” Well, okay, “me and Rachel Ray," Fey admitted. But however normal she tries to be, that doesn't mean that everyone's a fan - especially after all of those Sarah Palin impressions that she did all through 2009. "People started projecting politics onto me,” she said. “There are people who hate me now because of that.” Could part of that hate be because she and Palin are both women? Fey thinks it's a possibility.

Permalink U.S. sought attack on al-Qaida -White House given plan days before Sept. 11

WASHINGTON, May 16, 2002 - President Bush was expected to sign detailed plans for a worldwide war against al-Qaida two days before Sept. 11 but did not have the chance before the terrorist attacks/inside job in New York and Washington, U.S. and foreign sources told NBC News. The document, a formal National Security Presidential Directive, amounted to a “game plan to remove al-Qaida from the face of the earth,” one of the sources told NBC News’ Jim Miklaszewski. The plan dealt with all aspects of a war against al-Qaida, ranging from diplomatic initiatives to military operations in Afghanistan, the sources said on condition of anonymity.

Permalink Burmese villagers forced to move for a Chinese dam

With permission from the Burmese junta, a Chinese electricity giant is building seven hydro-electric dams in Burma's northern region of Kachin. The biggest of them - the Myitsone Dam - will see the forced displacement of 15,000 people from surrounding villages.

After seven years of negotiation and assessment, construction on the Myitsone damn began on December 21 2009. At 150 metres in both height and width, the dam will produce between 3,600 and 6,000 megawatts of electricity (the world's biggest dam - the Three Gorges in China - produces 18,200). It will also generate up to 500 million USD (368 million euros) per year for the Burmese junta. A local pro-autonomy political organisation called the Kachin Development Networking Group says that 47 villages, located in the world's eighth most bio-diverse region of the world, will be flooded because of the dam.

Permalink Profiteers of the Greek finance crisis

Wall Street loves a piñata party – singling out a company or country, making it the piñata, grabbing their sticks and banging it until it breaks. As in the child’s game, the piñata is left in shreds. Unlike the child’s game, in the Wall Street version the piñata is stuffed with money for the bankers to scoop up with both hands, instead of sweets. We see this game being played today, with Greece as the piñata.

Permalink The Mysterious Death of Bush's Cyber-Guru

Shortly before six o’clock on the evening of December 19, 2008, a man standing outside his home in Lake Township, Ohio heard the whine of an engine in the sky above him. Moments later two red lights broke through the low clouds, heading almost directly toward the ground. It was a light aircraft, and for a second, as it descended below the tree line, the man thought it would climb back up. Instead, there was a terrible thud, and the sky turned orange.
