Simple truth

Give me some pebbles to throw
Pebbles are the pathway to life
The echo of its music stays
Long after the shadow of the tyrant
Fades away

Tell me;
Did you spend your life
Searching for happiness
Running after crumbs of food
Accumulating tons of rotting clothes
Desiring heaps of rusty cars
Building a house of rubble
Chasing a mirage?

Calm down
Sit for a moment

And listen to your heart-beat
Whispering:
Your tomorrow never comes
Your yesterday has long gone
Your life is nothing but this moment
You are no-where; but now-here

Don't travel far
The dream of happiness you're after
Is very near; inside...

So, give me some pebbles to throw
Pebbles are the pathway to life

The echo of its music stays
Long after the shadow of the tyrant
Fades away

To defeat the aggressors is not enough to make peace durable. The main thing is to discard the ideology that generates war.
~ Ludwig von Mises
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says...I'll try again tomorrow.

Nahida Izzat: "I am -Jerusalem born- Palestinian refugee living in exile for over 40 years. I was forced to leave my homeland, Palestine at the age of seven during the six-day war.
I am a mathematician by profession but art is one of my favourite pastimes, I love hand-made things, so I make dolls, cards, and most of my own clothes.
I also write poetry, and participate in dialogues with known and unknown friends as I believe that communication is the first step of understanding, I believe in building bridges not walls.
My shy nature hinders me from public speaking, so I try to compensate for my shortcomings by writing! I started writing about three years ago when my friends insisted I should write about my memories, experiences, and my feelings as a Palestinian. So I self published two books (I Believe in Miracles and Palestine, The True Story) [Biographical information: Growing Gardens for Palestine]

"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle." ~

Any world is an illusion, but within illusion, another world, a better world, seems possible. In the material world, the one we think is real, the divide between the 'left' and 'right' is an artificial one. This divide serves to keep us separate from each other and prevents us from seeing clearly that we in fact have shared interests and a common enemy. A better way to approach economy, politics, culture and society would be to take note of the ways in which our societies are divided horizontally: the interests of the few (the elite) and the many (ordinary people). The elite wants to oppress and exploit the rest of us. In a material sense, they are our enemy. They are working to establish a One World Company, aka a totalitarian New World Order. World government is the last thing ordinary people need. We need free and open communities with equal rights for everyone and a profound respect for the many differences between us. We want freedom rather than security. We want peace, not war. Above all else, we want truth, dignity and justice. ~ The Editor
