Following the publication of the French edition of the “The Wandering Who ?” we asked jazz star Gilad Atzmon to respond to charges made against him by those who relentlessly try to stop him from speaking and disseminating his ideas. In his book, Gilad is critical of Jewish identity politics. He is also highly critical of Jewish political activity within the Left in general and the Palestinian solidarity movement in particular. Gilad’s arguments are impeccable – they appear faulty only to those who, lacking conscience incline to making slanderous accusations.

Silvia Cattori: Your book has just been published in French (1). Without any promotion it is selling like hotcakes; in spite of the fact that six months before the French publication (2), members of U.J.F.P. (French Jewish Union for Peace) and I.J.A.N. (International Jewish Antizionist Network) launched a campaign to demonise you within the left and the Palestinian solidarity movement,. Did all these attacks come as a surprise to you?

Gilad Atzmon: As you probably know I have been subject to these vile Jewish anti-Zionist campaigns for years. It is clear beyond doubt that I have managed to rock the boat. As it happens, I oppose any form of Jewish identity politics for being exclusive and racially oriented. Sadly enough, like Zionists, many of the Jewish anti Zionist political cells are openly engaged in similar tribal, racially-driven and exclusivist politics.

But there is also an ideological issue here. I openly contend that their entire terminology is misleading. Zionism is not colonialism, Israel is not Apartheid and the Israelis are not Zionists.

Zionism is not colonialism because the Jewish ‘Settler State’ lacks a Jewish ‘Mother State’. Israel is not Apartheid because the Jewish (settler) State doesn’t want to exploit the Palestinians but to get rid of them. Israel is actually driven by Lebensraum (Living Space) philosophy. In other words, the Jewish State adopted Nazi racist, expansionist ideology. But the Jews in our movement do not like the comparison with Nazi Germany.

Also, Israel is not exactly Zionism and Israelis are not necessarily Zionists. Israel is the product of the Zionist ideology and the Israeli is basically a post-revolutionary product. Hence, the Zionist/anti-Zionist debate has very little significance in Israel or on Israeli politics.

In short, our entire terminology is misleading if not deceitful. I guess that since I expose all of this it is only natural that some people would wish to kill the messenger.

Soros' Open Society Foundations pretend to be liberal. Their claimed mission is to "work to build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens."

In fact, Soros, like other corporate predators, doesn't tolerate democratic values. He's no populist. He supports everything that smells money. He's involved in grabbing all he can.

He promotes marketplace sovereignty; deregulation; privatization of government services; ending popular entitlements, social spending, and affirmative action; prioritizing business friendly policies; class war; controlling electoral politics; supporting scoundrel media cheerleading his ideology; and wars advancing his agenda.

On January 25, 2010, New York Times writer Andrew Sorkin headlined, "Still Needed: A Sheriff of Finance." He quoted Soros saying:

"We need a global sheriff." Perhaps he has himself in mind.

An unverified quote attributed to him said:

"Assad is a mass murderer! He is no better than Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, Quadafy, etc. He has committed crimes against humanity and deserves DEATH! The U.S. & the world stands by and does NOTHING! How many more innocent civilians must die? Where are our drones? Where are our Special Forces?"

If accurate, it wouldn't be the first time he saw a potential business opportunity and exploited it unscrupulously.

In 1992, he made a billion dollars by sabotaging the European Rate Mechanism (ERM) through highly leveraged speculation.

He made billions more from the 1997 Asian currency crash. His business model is rogue investing. As a market participant, he's unconcerned with the consequences of his actions.

In the late 1990s, he supported ousting Saddam Hussein by any means, including war. He's connected to the war-profiteering Carlyle Group. He donates millions to dissident movements against regimes he opposes. He took credit for "Americanizing Eastern Europe." His agenda's notorious.

Apparently he's at it again targeting Syria and likely Iran. Wealth accumulation is his main objective. Means justify ends. Body counts don't matter, just accumulating money to make more it any way he can.

The extremely high costs of ObamaCare is not “socialistic medicine.” ObamaCare is high-cost privatized medicine that guarantees billions of dollars in profits to private insurance companies.

Growing up in the post-war era (after the Second World War), I never expected to live in the strange Kafkaesque world that exists today. The US government can assassinate any US citizen that the executive branch thinks could possibly be a “threat” to the US government, or throw the hapless citizen into a dungeon for the rest of his or her life without presenting any evidence to a court or obtaining a conviction of any crime, or send the “threat” to a puppet foreign state to be tortured until the “threat” confesses to a crime that never occurred or dies at the hands of “freedom and democracy” while professing innocence.

It has never been revealed how a single citizen, or any number thereof, could possibly comprise a threat to a government that has a trillion plus dollars to spend each year on security and weapons, the world’s largest navy and air force, 700 plus military bases across the world, large numbers of nuclear weapons, 16 intelligence agencies plus the intelligence agencies of its NATO puppet states and the intelligence service of Israel.

Nevertheless, air travelers are subjected to porno-scanning and sexual groping. Cars traveling on Interstate highways can expect to be stopped, with traffic backed up for miles, while Homeland Security and the federalized state or local police conduct searches.

I witnessed one such warrantless search on Easter Sunday. The south bound lanes of I-185 heading into Columbus, Georgia, were at a standstill while black SUV and police car lights flashed. US citizens were treated by “security” forces that they finance as if they were “terrorists” or “domestic extremists,” another undefined class of Americans devoid of constitutional protections.

These events are Kafkaesque in themselves, but they are ever more so when one considers that these extraordinary violations of the US Constitution fail to be overturned in the Supreme Court. Apparently, American citizens lack standing to defend their civil liberties.
