Moscow repelled one of largest attempted Drone Attacks in history, overnight. One such drone is seen in flames above, falling from the sky over Moscow. | Russian alert air defense systems destroyed 45 Ukrainian drones last night, including 11 over the Moscow Region, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday.

💬 "Air defense on duty destroyed 45 aircraft-type drones when the Kiev regime attempted to carry out a terrorist attack using unmanned aerial vehicles on objects in the territory of the Russian Federation," the statement read. It was also stated that 11 drones were shot down over the territory of the Moscow Region. "It is one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow ever. We continue to monitor the situation," Moscow's Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

Another 23 drones were destroyed over the Bryansk Region, six were shot down over the Belgorod Region, three over the Kaluga Region and two over the Kursk Region.

At least 92,981 Palestinians injured in Israeli onslaught since Oct. 7, 2023, Health Ministry says | At least 50 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, pushing up the overall death toll since last Oct. 7 to 40,223, the Health Ministry in the war-torn enclave said on Wednesday. A ministry statement added that some 92,981 others have been injured in the ongoing assault.

💬 “Israeli forces killed 50 people and injured 124 others in four ‘massacres’ of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said. “Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023 following a Hamas attack despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire. Over 10 months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

The politician also hinted at those behind the attack on the Kursk Region, making unflattering comments about a former British prime minister

💬 "Everything fell into place after the neo-Nazis carried out this act of terrorism against the Kursk Region. Idle talk about wonderful peace by unauthorized mediators is over. Now, everyone understands - even if no one says it publicly - that there will be no talks until the enemy is completely defeated," he wrote on Telegram.

💬 "In my view, the risk - albeit theoretical - of our country getting trapped in negotiations at some point, showed its face," Medvedev pointed out, adding that he was talking about "the premature and unnecessary peace talks proposed by the international community, which were imposed on the Kiev regime." The Russian Security Council deputy chairman questioned the prospects of such talks, or what results they could produce.

The US, UK, and Poland trained the units that broke through the border earlier this month, the SVR has said | NATO countries helped Ukraine plan and carry out the ongoing incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has said. Moscow previously accused the US and other Western countries of enabling Kyiv to strike deep inside Russia and target civilians. [...] According to the SVR, the Ukrainian units that crossed the border earlier this month underwent training in Britain and Germany. [...] Kyiv’s largest incursion into internationally recognized Russian territory to date began on August 6, when Ukrainian troops attacked border posts and subsequently overran multiple villages, as well as Sudzha, a border city with a pre-conflict population of 5,000. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said on Sunday that Kyiv intends to establish a “buffer zone” on Russian soil.
