Permalink Swedish Foreign Minister Billström rejects the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons after joining NATO

Sweden will not place nuclear weapons on its territory after joining NATO, Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom was quoted by Reuters as saying. | The foreign minister said Stockholm would follow the example of its neighbours, Denmark and Norway, which have no such weapons on their territory. 💬 "This is still the long-term position of the Moderate Coalition Party. It was never our intention to change the terms of the application submitted by the previous government," Billström added.  In early August, a similar position was expressed by Bilstrom's predecessor as Sweden's foreign minister, Ann Linde. She said there were no plans to deploy nuclear weapons in the country. She made this statement commenting on the possibility of deployment of NATO military facilities on the territory of Swedish kingdom. 💬 "We have no plans to deploy any nuclear weapons on our territory." (Quoted by TASS news agency).  Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said in an interview with RIA Novosti on 30 October that Russia would take into account in its military planning the deployment of modernised US nuclear bombs in European countries. 💬 "We cannot ignore plans to modernise nuclear weapons, those free-fall bombs that are in Europe. The U.S. is modernizing them, increasing their accuracy and reducing the power of the nuclear charge," Grushko said. He noted that the U.S. is thus turning these weapons into "battlefield weapons," which, he said, lowers the nuclear threshold. The Russian deputy foreign minister added that all these factors are a subject of Moscow's attention, not only in terms of military planning, but also taking "all other necessary measures to reliably ensure Russia's security and defence". Permalink NEW VIDEO: Russia's De-militarization of Ukraine Continues - US Sending Decades-Old Arms to Kiev

Update on Russian military operations in and around Ukraine for November 11, 2022.:

Russia completes withdrawal from Kherson city to east bank of the Dnieper River;
Ukraine has lost its last major opportunity to corner and destroy/capture large numbers of Russian forces/equipment;
Russia continues stated process of de-militarizing Ukraine;
US aid to Ukraine becomes increasingly unrealistic - Hawk missiles designed in the 1960s and unused for 2 decades are being "refurbished" for a lack of better options;
"Avenger" systems to be sent in small numbers (4) which are essentially Stinger missiles attached to a Hummer - after training for Ukrainian operators is completed;
Dwindling amounts of basic ammunition continue to be sent to Ukraine, prolonging the conflict, but not in quantities to even allow Ukraine to hold what it has;
As Russian forces withdrew from Kherson city, they advanced elsewhere in southern and northern Donbass.

A rapid gas pressure drop and fuel leakage were detected along the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, built to carry a combined annual 110 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to Europe, on September 26. The Russian Ministry of Defense’ month-long probe revealed that Britain’s Royal Navy took part in the planning and execution of the sabotage.  Two unidentified vessels passed within the vicinity of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines prior to the underwater blasts there on September 26, according to newly-revealed satellite imagery analysis, prompting further speculation regarding what Russia has blasted as "obvious terrorist attack."  A month-long investigation led the Russian military to conclude that the Royal Navy was behind the sabotage. Moscow has blasted the Nord Stream incident as an "obvious terrorist attack." The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said the world needed to know more about a text message allegedly sent by ex-UK Prime Minister Liz Truss to US State Secretary Antony Blinken minutes after the targeting of the Nord Stream pipeline network. Earlier, Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload file-sharing website, tweeted that Truss had ostensibly used her iPhone to send a message to Blinken saying 💬 "It’s done" just minutes after the pipeline explosion.

The two women targeted a museum in Oslo to protest Norway’s oil policies | Two people unsuccessfully attempted to glue themselves to Edvard Munch’s masterpiece ‘The Scream’ in Norway’s National Museum on Friday. The painting did not sustain any damage, and the activists were swiftly apprehended by police.  The activists, members of the Norwegian organization ‘Stopp Oljeletinga’ (Stop Oil Exploration), said they want to pressure lawmakers into halting oil exploration.  Local police said they had taken three women from Denmark, Finland, and Germany “under control”. According to Norwegian news agency NTB, the third person was filming the stunt. The outlet also reported that the climate warriors chanted: 💬 “I scream when people die,” and “I scream when politicians ignore science.” According to Norwegian police, there were glue stains left on the glass protecting the painting. All three activists are likely to be charged with misdemeanors, it added.
