A report by NBC News shows how CIA is actually waging information war against Russia using intelligence that is fabricated.

According to an NBC News story on Wednesday, US intelligence officers leaked info on the Ukraine conflict that wasn’t “rock solid” and outright made up some statements in order to wage a “info war” against the Kremlin. Officials acknowledged to spreading false information and boasted about it. According to the NBC report, when the American media quoted US “intelligence” to warn that Russia was ready to deploy chemical weapons in Ukraine, and when President Joe Biden echoed similar concerns, they were engaged in a deception campaign.

If lockdown, and brute force, were indefensible in Australia, New Zealand and New York, they're indefensible in China.

I know many people who always spring to the CCP’s defense, no matter what the charge, on the assumption that it can’t be true, or that it can’t be all that bad, or that there’s a damn good reason for it. This reflex is driven by the Manichaean fantasy that China and the US are fundamentally at odds, that the US is way worse, and that any bad news out of China comes from Langley.

That is a fantasy, for several reasons too complex to deal with adequately here. In any case, that tendency to carry water for the CCP is especially notable when it’s indulged by people who are rightly outraged when the US (or any other of the “democracies”) does what China’s doing, or has done, but, when China does it, either they go mute, or (wrongly) wax supportive of the crime.

There’s a whole lot more to say about what’s really going on in China, which I’ll revisit soon, in more detail. For now, it is enough to share a video provided by a Chinese student in Shanghai, who sent it to a colleague/friend of mine at NYU. This student is quite desperate to come back to the US, because the lockdown over there is horrible—as I think those who’ve conscientiously opposed the lockdowns in the West ought to agree. (Let’s see if they do.) If lockdown was a groundless and disastrous policy in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, it’s no more justifiable when the CCP imposes it, and even worse, in light of their particular brutality (as evidenced in this video).

The United Nations General Assembly voted 93-24 with 58 abstentions to drop the Russian Federation from membership on the UN Human Rights Council, based on allegations and grisly videos and photos appearing to show execution-style slayings of civilians in Ukraine by Russian troops. [...] Let’s look at some of those [US] crimes:

First and biggest, there is the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. Iraq posed no immediate threat to the US. Not even close the way Ukraine shares a 1300-mile border with Russia, Iraq had no navy, no long-range bombers or missiles and is located 7000 miles from the nearest US border. That war, completely illegal, went unpunished, as did the people who ordered it: President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

The same is true of the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. The excuse for that was was that the US wanted to hunt down and capture or destroy the Al Qaeda terrorist organization which was primarily based in Afghanistan, guests of that country’s Taliban government, which claimed not to know that the group and it leader, the Saudi Arabian Osama Bin Laden, were plotting a terrorist attack on the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon. Because this was not an attack by Afghanistan, and because the Taliban was ready to surrender Bin Laden and his accomplices if offered assurances that they would not be executed — an offer the US refused — there was no justification for that invasion o the 20-year war and occupation that followed it, whose aim shifted from pursuing Al Qaeda to ousting the Taliban from power.

The US invasion of Libya and the overthrow and murder of its leader Muammar Qaddafy in 2011 was similarly a war crime, as, like the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq before it, was never sanctioned by any UN Security Council Vote, and because Libya posed no threat to the US, imminent or otherwise, as required under international law. President Obama, who ordered that war, is also as much a war criminal as is President Putin.

This is the latest outrage inflicted on our right to access information and it goes one step further in the war on freedom of expression!

That announced 'break with the past' of faking 'intelligence' happened when? How 'rock solid' was the 'intelligence' about Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction or chemical weapons attacks in Douma, Syria? U.S. 'intelligence', then and now, is pure imagination for the purpose of deceiving the U.S. and 'western' public about the reality of this or that conflict.
