Permalink Does NATO's Outgoing Head Have Kurdish Skeletons in His Closet?

In just a few days Anders Fogh Rasmussen will leave NATO's top civilian job, but questions remain over how he secured the position in the first Place. The secret story of how the outgoing head of the most powerful military alliance landed his job “has everything,” according to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. “It has the Kurds. It has the destruction of an entire TV station. Corrupt deals between intelligence agencies and the judiciary. The corruption of a Scandinavian country, Denmark. And the head of that country, the prime minister, doing a corrupt deal to get his job,” Assange told teleSUR English in an exclusive interview. Continuing, Assange lamented the “whole thing, signed off, explicitly by Barack Obama.” The story with "everything" is now a pending case before the European Court of Human Rights, but it begins two years ago, with the prosecution of a Kurdish language television station in Denmark.

Permalink US targets Syria infrastructure rather than militants: Sabrosky

The United States’ airstrikes in Syria often target militants with “no military value” and actually aim at the country’s infrastructure, says a US Marine Corps veteran. Alan Sabrosky (Ph.D, University of Michigan) made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday while commenting on Washington-led coalition airstrikes in Syria that began last week. “What I can see happening is that the targets they’re selecting are those that have, in many cases, no military value at all to ISIS or any other rebel group but really are intended to break whatever infrastructure the Syrian government will have when the fighting is over,” Sabrosky said. Washington intends to inflict “such damage to the economic and industrial infrastructure within Syria that any Syrian government after the fighting will be so weakened that it will be vulnerable to further attacks.” Sabrosky, a US Army War College graduate, also noted that it is important for the international community to understand that war has become “a normal part of the political, public, and social environment” in the US as the country is “now entering its 14th year of continuous warfare.” “That is extremely dangerous for a lot of other countries,” he stated.

Carl Herman .01% scream, ‘More war!’ as a million children die from poverty every month; are you demanding arrests NOW? || The US has started 201 foreign armed attacks since WW2, causing the world’s peoples to conclude in polling that the US is indeed #1 as the most threatening nation to world peace. These US-started armed attacks have killed ~30 million and counting; 90% of these deaths are innocent children, the elderly and ordinary working civilian women and men. These US armed attacks have war-murdered more than Hitler’s Nazis. Importantly, US official reports now confirm all “reasons” for war the US .01% claimed were known to be false as they were told. More importantly, these lie-started US wars are not even close to lawful (here, here, here, here), and continue a long history of lie-began US Wars of Aggression.

Permalink Ebola diagnosed in US for first time

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed on Tuesday that the first case of Ebola has been diagnosed in the US. On Monday, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas admitted a patient into strict isolation to be evaluated for potential Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), based on the patient’s symptoms and recent travel history, according to a statement by the hospital. By Tuesday afternoon, the CDC had received preliminary blood test results back, confirming that the patient was indeed infected with the potentially deadly virus. The patient had recently traveled to Liberia, leaving the West African country on September 19 and arriving in the US on the following day. The patient had no Ebola symptoms when leaving Liberia or entering the United States, CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden said during a press conference. Around September 24, the patient began developing symptoms, which are often non-specific, Frieden noted. On Sunday, the victim sought care for those symptoms, and was admitted to the Texas hospital and put in an isolation ward. The patient is currently “critically ill,” according to the CDC director.

Permalink Palestinians furious at Bibi speech

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly has infuriated the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Press TV reports. Addressing the General Assembly on Monday, Netanyahu compared Israel's battle against Palestinian resistance movement Hamas to that of the US-led campaign against the ISIL militants in Iraq and Syria. The Israeli prime minister is considered by Palestinians a war criminal for the atrocities that were perpetrated by his forces during the 50-day war on Gaza, which ended a little over a month ago, and the eight-day war in 2012. [...] The al-Mezan Center For Human Rights, a non-governmental organization based in the Jabalia Palestinian refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, says the international community is in cahoots with Tel Aviv by allowing Netanyahu to deliver a speech at the UN. “Netanyahu’s forces carried out systematic killing of Gazan children and women and wanton destruction of civilian infrastructure. Netanyahu addressing world leaders only asserts the complicity of the international community in Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,” Samir Zaqqout of the rights group said. Hamas also slammed the Israeli premier’s speech, calling it a speech of hatred and incitement.

Permalink 9/11 activist hands himself in over Cameron remarks - Video

In response to Cameron’s remarks equating people, who question 9/11 and 7/7 attacks in the US and UK as well as the West’s policy towards the Middle East, with Takfiri preachers who radicalize extremists, Nick Kollerstrom handed himself in. As the evidence emerges about the backgrounds of those convicted of terrorist offences, it is clear that many of them were initially influenced by preachers who claim not to encourage violence, but whose world view can be used as a justification for it. And we know what this world view is, the peddling of lies: that 9/11 was a Jewish plot or the 7/7 London attacks were staged; the idea that Muslims are persecuted all over the world as a deliberate act of Western policy,” Cameron said while addressing the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 25. Explaining his actions to the Press TV correspondent in London, Kollerstrom said, “David Cameron has redefined terrorism at the UN to include people, who believe that the London bombings involve government complicity, were to some degree arranged, which I certainly do believe, and I’ve published a book on the subject and also I believe the 9/11 was an inside job. I do think Islamic nations are being selectively targeted, it’s perfectly obvious, and if the police force are going by his directive what constitutes terrorism, it seems to me that they need to arrest me.
