The hegemon is not tired; on the contrary, he believes he can win. What is written in La Repubblica means literally the following: The US and NATO assume that the success of Kiev (i.e. NATO) in the battle for Kherson means defeat for Russia in the war, as it makes its continuation lost and pointless, and victory impossible.

● After all, in order to retake Kherson in an offensive military operation, Russia would have to declare martial law and put the economy on a war footing. It will have to mobilize, arm, equip and train more than a million soldiers redeployed to this direction and able to cross one of the largest rivers in Europe under fire of the same millionth grouping. These elites have to be drawn from somewhere and somehow introduced into the management. Militarily speaking, this is the rotation of troops right under enemy fire.

● The compromise regime of the Washington Consensus, as the basis of the former existence of the Russian elites, has completely outlived itself. Attempts to impose its prolongation on society will provoke a reaction that will result in a severe political crisis.

In the state Russia is in now, this is impossible. Much has been done to bring the country out of this state, but the work is far from over. Moreover, it is at the very beginning. It will take a considerable amount of time to bring the state to a state of readiness, and that is if internal political stability is maintained. The West realizes that it now has an opportunity to prevent that stability. And the key to this is precisely Russia's loss of Kherson.

It sets off such chain reactions of delegitimisation of the elites that they will no longer be able to cope. If Kiev succeeds in the battle for Kherson, it will give the US and NATO the opportunity to bring Russia to its knees. The loss of other territories will be a matter of time. This is how the US sees the situation and this is the meaning they put into the phrase "The US and NATO allow the start of peace talks on Ukraine if Kiev recaptures Kherson", viewing the negotiations in this position as an Act of unconditional surrender to Russia.

● That is why it must be understood: Kherson today is Stalingrad or Kursk. Whoever wins Kherson will ensure that the war between Russia and the West turns in their favour, no matter how long it lasts. Whoever loses Kherson loses perspective. The authorities understand all the threats, but they also understand the complexity of the coming battle.

We do not know the plans of the General Staff for the battle for Kherson. But preparations are underway, and the battle will be decisive. The battle is going on for the Russian land and for the Russian people. It will not be possible to stall further, this resource is exhausted. Today it is clear that the West is going to negotiate with Russia only from the position of the winner.
