Systematic Israeli State Terror

Stephen Lendman

Despite his own cross to bear, Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan got it right calling Israel responsible for "state terror."

In fact, it's official policy, ongoing for decades against non-Jews, especially Palestinians without letup.

According to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), from August 18 - 24 alone, Israel launched 41 air strikes against Gaza, killing 17 Palestinians, including two children and a doctor, wounding 20 others, and destroying or damaging a number of facilities attacked.

During the same period, Israeli forces conducted at least 27 military incursions into Palestinian West Bank communities, arresting 77 civilians.

On September 5, Press TV said Israeli settlers torched a mosque in Qusra village near Nablus "when they threw burning tyres inside it."

As a result, fire damaged the walls and ceiling. They also broke windows, threw rocks at Palestinian vehicles, wrote insulting graffiti about the Prophet Mohammed and Israeli social justice protestors, and drew the Star of David on the wall of Ayman Tayseer Omran's house, located near the mosque.

Condemning the incident, PCHR this and others

"are carried out in the context of incitement practiced by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people, which encourages settlers to continue their attacks."

It's not the first time mosques have been attacked and for sure not the last, nor many other ways extremist settlers vandalize Palestinian property with impunity, and commit acts of violence, including murder.

9/11 Mythology: The Big Lie of Our Time

Stephen Lendman

Winston Churchill rightly explained that "(a) lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." Today, of course, it circulates everywhere instantly.

Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany's Reich Minister of Propaganda, once said:

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

He added that "truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

Corporate media manipulators love a big story they can hype, distort, and falsify to attract large audiences supportively for the worst imperial crimes.

In fact, the bigger the event, the worse the reporting, sacrificing truth for managed news and opinions everyone should understand and avoid.

Distinguished scholars like David Ray Griffin exposed the 9/11 lie in his exhaustive research and writings. In numerous books, articles, and lectures, he provided convincing evidence about an inside job, not an attack carried out by "crazed Arabs."

In an April 5, 2006 lecture titled, "9/11: The Myth and the Reality," he concluded saying:

"It would seem, for many reasons, that the official story of 9/11, which has served as a religious Myth in the intervening years (and still does), is a myth in the pejorative sense of a story that does not correspond to reality."

It was Griffin's polite way of calling it a Big Lie, the biggest of our time.

How Al Qaeda men came to power in Libya

Thierry Meyssan

Historical leader of Al Qaeda in Libya, Abdel Hakim
Belhadj, is now the military governor of "liberated"
Tripoli and in charge of organizing the army of the
"new Libya".

Al Qaeda is a hotbed of mercenaries used by the United States to fight in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Kosovo, Iraq, and now Libya, Syria and Yemen.

In the 80s, the CIA instigated Awatha al-Zuwawi to create an agency in Libya to recruit mercenaries for the jihad against the Soviets in Afghanistan. As from 1986, recruits were trained in the Salman al-Farisi Libyan camp in Pakistan, under the authority of anti-Communist billionaire Osama bin Laden.

When bin Laden moved to Sudan, the Libyan jihadists followed him there, and regrouped in a compound of their own. In 1994, Osama bin Laden dispatched Libyan jihadists back to their country to kill Muammar Gaddafi and reverse the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

On 18 October 1995, the group reassembled under the label of Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG). During the three years that followed, the LIFG attempted to assassinate Muammar Gaddafi on four occasions and to establish a guerrilla in the Southern mountainous region. Following these operations, the Libyan army - under the command of General Abdel Fattah Younes - waged a campaign to eradicate the guerrillas, and the Libyan judicial authorities issued an arrest warrant against Osama bin Laden, disseminated internationally through Interpol as from 1998.

According to UK counter espionage agent David Shayler, the development of the LIFG and the first assassination attempt on Gaddafi by Al-Qaeda was funded by the British MI6 to the tune of 100,000 pounds [1].

At the time, Libya was the only state in the world that was hunting for Osama bin Laden, who still officially enjoyed the political support of the United States, despite his disapproval of "Operation Desert Storm."

The September entitlement: Behind the headlines

Khalid Amayreh in occupied Palestine

As it looks now, the Palestinian Authority (PA) seems fairly determined to formally ask the United Nations to recognize "Palestine" within the borders of the 4th of June, 1967, as a member-state of the international organization.

So far, as many as 140 states have signaled their willingness to support the Palestinian UN membership bid. This fact alone can be viewed as a great symbolic diplomatic victory for the Palestinians and a dismal diplomatic failure for Israel. How this victory will manifest itself on the ground is an entirely different matter.

Israel has been trying rather desperately to enlist as many countries as possible to thwart the expected Palestinian move at the UN. However, it seems that by now Israeli efforts are facing stiff resistance in so many capitals that Israeli diplomats, including the Israeli envoy to the UN, have conceded defeat in this regard.

This doesn't mean at all that the apartheid state will surrender tomorrow and come to terms with legitimate and internationally-recognized Palestinian rights to freedom and self-determination.

Far from it, Israel will try to manipulate and thoroughly exploit every conceivable American leverage to force the PA, whose financial survival depends to a large extent on American and European aid, to either reconsider its plans at the UN or succumb to Israeli dictates and blackmailing tactics, e.g. by pledging that the final borders of the prospective Palestinian entity would only be decided through peace negotiation with the Jewish state.
