In a Guinea Seized by Violence, Women as Prey

Adam Nossiter

Cellphone snapshots, ugly and hard to refute, are circulating here and feeding rage: they show that women were the particular targets of the Guinean soldiers who suppressed a political demonstration at a stadium here last week, with victims and witnesses describing rapes, beatings and acts of intentional humiliation.

“I can’t sleep at night, after what I saw,” said one middle-aged woman from an established family here, who said she had been beaten and sexually molested. “And I am afraid. I saw lots of women raped, and lots of dead.”

One photograph shows a naked woman lying on muddy ground, her legs up in the air, a man in military fatigues in front of her. In a second picture a soldier in a red beret is pulling the clothes off a distraught-looking woman half-lying, half-sitting on muddy ground. In a third a mostly nude woman lying on the ground is pulling on her trousers.

The cellphone pictures are circulating anonymously, but multiple witnesses corroborated the events depicted.

Why are the oligarchic elites trying so hard to push their climate change policies through right now?

Notsilvia Night

[This graph represents the economic effect of a carbon tax and shows how the tax level might best be set. The graph promotes the idea that carbon tax would be most efficient if set at a level that would reflect the marginal cost of abatement as well as the marginal damage costs of pollution. Why are the political and financial elites and there obedient servants in the their faith-, sorry scientific community pushing so madly for a final decision on a global Carbon Tax legislation at this very moment? Why don´t they just wait until the scandal of “climate gate” has blown over?

Because those elites know they are wrong on the issue of human caused climate change. They know that the data doesn´t support their fear-mongering, because they themselves have fudged it to support a political agenda. They know that their lies are being revealed to the public piece by piece, faster and faster.

Nobel Prize to Obama - Cindy Sheehan, Peace Activist

I have been in Oslo, Norway the past few days working with the Oslo peace community in their opposition to Barack Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

I have been doing a lot of media in preparation for the rally that we had this evening that culminated in a march to the Grand Hotel, where the Laureate was to wave at us from a bulletproof glass encased balcony.

My hosts here in Oslo are Afghan refugees who are working on an exciting movement to replace the US puppet leaders and the Taliban in Afghanistan and I am honored to be asked to be a part of it, and will have more details as the plan unfolds, but the organization is called: Peace and Democracy in Afghanistan. My hosts are understandably upset with Obama and upset with the Peace prize committee for this outlandish betrayal of peace!
